| This Solar, situated in Arcas near Bragança, is a magnificent example of a house built in the 17th and 18th Centuries. It belongs to the Pessanha family, descendents of a Portuguese teacher who specialised in navigation, during the period of D. Dinis (Manuel Pessanha). Within the house, particularly the chapel, there is a traditional welcoming atmosphere. An interesting attaction for the guests here is the opportunity to do some traditional farming and the option to use the hunting area. Also one can try the delicious gastronomy of the Tras-os-Montes Region. Within the neighbouring area of Barragem do Azibo and the Montesinho Natural Park, there is a village called França which offers horse riding lessons. | ||||||||
